I
was born in 1971 in Reno, Nevada, and moved with my family
to Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1978 when my Dad accepted a position
with the Clark County District Attorney's office. I graduated
from Western High School with honors in 1990, later graduated
with honors from Brigham Young University with a degree in
history, and then in 1999 I obtained my law degree from the
University of San Diego. My second year of law school was
unusual in that I spent the year as a visiting student at
Brigham Young University, J. Reuben Clark Law School.
In 1999 I passed the Nevada
Bar, one of the toughest in the country (a 60% pass rate).
I am now a partner in the firm of Hansen & Rassmussen
and previously to that worked at Hansen & Hansen with
my father and my brother Gregory. I've had experience in many
arbitrations, judge trials, and jury trials, and in particular
I have had much experience in family law, such as custody
battles, divorces, and setting up guardianships. We try to
settle these cases between the parties if possible, but if
the other side makes unreasonable demands, we are fully prepared
to go to trial to protect your rights.
I am an Eagle Scout, active
in my church, and a member of the central committee of my
political party. I believe that Americans have rights, and
that we need to fight for them. I will fight for your rights
and take your case to trial if necessary.
